Bengaluru Roads Shut Near Lok Bhavan from 2–8 PM for Karnataka Ministers' Oath Ceremony

Bengaluru, August 3: With the new ministers' oath-taking ceremony (Karnataka Ministers' Oath Ceremony) scheduled at Lok Bhavan today, Bengaluru's traffic system has been significantly altered. Vehicle movement has been restricted on several major roads from 2 pm to 8 pm, and heavy vehicles have been completely banned from operating within Bengaluru city limits from 2 pm to 10 pm. Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Karthik Reddy has issued the orders.

Traffic Restrictions on Major Roads

Except for event-authorised vehicles, all types of vehicles are banned from travelling from BRV Junction on Cubbon Road to CTO Junction and onward to Lok Bhavan. Restrictions also apply to:

• Vehicles coming from Balekudri Junction towards Ambedkar Road
• Vehicles on Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Road from K.R. Circle to Coffee Board Junction
• Vehicles from Queens Junction towards CTO
• Vehicles from St. Mark's Road towards CTO Junction

Bengaluru Traffic Police issued a formal Traffic Advisory on X (formerly Twitter) regarding these restrictions.

Alternate Routes for Commuters

• Travellers from BRV Junction (Cubbon Road) heading to CTO or Lok Bhavan can divert towards Shivajinagar and use Anil Kumble Junction.
• Vehicles from Queens Road and Shivajinagar can proceed via Cunningham Road at Balekudri Junction.
• Vehicles heading from K.R. Circle to Coffee Board Junction are advised to use Nrupatunga Road.
• Vehicles from Queens Junction heading to Lok Bhavan can travel via Anil Kumble Junction and BRV Junction.

No Parking Zones

Parking has been prohibited on the following roads:

• Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Road
• Lok Bhavan Road
• L.H. Road
• Queens Road
• Palace Road
• Roads inside Cubbon Park
• Miller Road
• Infantry Road
• K.G. Road
• Nrupatunga Road
• Kasturba Road
• Cubbon Road

Parking for Pass-Holders

Vehicles with event passes can park at:

• Vidhana Soudha Cement Parking
• Around Vikasa Soudha
• L.H. Parking behind Raj Bhavan
• Nehru Planetarium premises

Parking for General Public

Vehicles without passes can park at:

• Kondajji Bhavan
• Shivajinagar Bus Stand Multi-Level Parking
• Kanteerava Stadium
• UB City Parking
• Government Arts College premises
• Corporation Office space
• Palace Grounds – Gates 2, 3, and 4

Heavy vehicles have been completely banned from operating within Bengaluru city limits from 2 pm to 10 pm in connection with the ceremony.
