Cocaine Dealer Arrested 100 Metres from Bengaluru Police Station, ₹50 Lakh in Drugs Seized

Bengaluru, August 3: Police have arrested a man who was using bike-based delivery services to transport cocaine from a location barely 100 metres from the Chamarajpet police station, seizing narcotics worth approximately ₹50 lakh in the process.

The arrested man has been identified as Raju, 30, a native of Uttar Pradesh residing on Begur Main Road, Bengaluru.

How the Racket Was Uncovered

Around midnight on July 19, police noticed logistics delivery bikes pulling up to an apartment on Conservancy Road every 15 to 20 minutes — an unusual frequency that triggered suspicion. Officers observed that instead of dropping off parcels for apartment residents, the riders were collecting small packets from a man standing near a car.

When police intercepted one of the delivery riders and questioned him, it emerged that all the bookings had been made by Raju.

According to police, Raju was paying each rider a tip of around ₹300 — well above the standard ₹50 delivery charge — to ensure speedy, delay-free drops.

Cocaine Concealed in Chocolate Boxes

When the parcels were inspected, officers found cocaine hidden inside small chocolate boxes. Police arrested Raju on the spot. A second accused, identified as Akshit, who is believed to have been involved in the racket, has gone into hiding and is being actively searched.

Seizures and Case Registered

Police confiscated 116.3 grams of cocaine, valued at approximately ₹50 lakh, along with the car alleged to have been used in the operation.

Raju's customer base is suspected to include students, IT professionals, and business owners.

A case has been registered at Chamarajpet police station under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, and Raju has been remanded to judicial custody.

Investigators are now probing the cocaine's source, the full list of recipients, how long the operation had been running, and whether a larger interstate drug network lies behind it.
