Karnataka Rolls Out High-Tech 'Digital Fortress' to Secure 74,000-Post Recruitment Exams

Bengaluru, August 2: The Karnataka government has introduced a state-of-the-art security apparatus for recruitment examinations covering 74,000 vacant government posts, aimed at conducting the process transparently and free from malpractice. Home Minister Priyank Kharge announced that technology-driven, stringent measures have been put in place to prevent question-paper leaks and cheating.

Smart Security Trunks and 5-Layer Tamper-Proof Packaging

Cutting-edge security technology is being deployed this time to prevent question-paper leaks. Question papers will be transported in 'one-time lockable security trunks' — if any unauthorised attempt is made to open them, an automatic alert is instantly transmitted to the concerned authorities. The papers will be shipped in five-layer tamper-proof packaging and printed at high-security printing presses located outside Karnataka.

Jammers and CCTV Inside Every Exam Room

Unlike earlier practice where jammers were placed only at the centre level, high-tech jammers will now be installed inside every individual exam room. Each candidate within the same hall will receive a question paper with a unique question and answer-option sequence, making mass copying impossible.

Exam centres will be inspected 24 hours in advance and kept under continuous surveillance via CCTV cameras and flying squads.

Social Media Monitoring

Police will maintain close watch on WhatsApp, Telegram, Bitchat, and Snapchat for anyone spreading fake news or rumours of question-paper leaks. Anyone found doing so will face swift action.

OMR Sheets Published Before Evaluation

Within 24 hours of the exam concluding, OMR (optical mark recognition) answer sheets will be uploaded to the KEA (Karnataka Examinations Authority) website — before evaluation begins — ensuring transparency in the assessment process.

Crackdown on Suspects and Coaching Centres

Investigating agencies are keeping a close eye on individuals suspected of involvement in past exam irregularities. The government has warned that coaching centres that fail to report illegal activities to authorities will face strict legal action.
