Bengaluru, May 3: Senior MLA and Chief Minister's Economic Advisor Basavaraj Rayareddy has made a significant statement regarding the upcoming leadership change and cabinet reshuffle in Karnataka Congress. Discussions are underway about the "explosive twist" he has delivered in the ongoing battle for the Chief Minister's seat.
Rayareddy met All India Congress Committee (AICC) President Mallikarjun Kharge in New Delhi and discussed Karnataka's political situation. He suggested to Kharge that if Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's position is changed, Kharge himself should become the Chief Minister. Rayareddy also revealed that a formal invitation has been extended to Kharge for this purpose, and said that this move is part of CM Siddaramaiah's own political strategy.
Rayareddy also expressed concern that unnecessary talk of a CM change could prove to be a setback for the party's growth and the stability of the government.
